Biography
Jodi Pollack serves as Sotheby’s Chairman and Co-Worldwide Head of 20th Century Design as well as Chairman of Major Collections. Under her leadership, Sotheby’s has become the dominant Design market leader, achieving more than $950 million in total global sales of 20th Century Design since 2020. For over 25 years, Ms. Pollack has developed close advisory relationships with many of the most influential collectors worldwide and has cultivated cross-category engagement with a new generation of Design buyers. During her time at Sotheby’s, she has sold many of the most defining works of Design to appear at auction and has overseen numerous landmark collection sales, including A Legacy of Beauty: The Collection of Sydell Miller (2024), The Wolf Family Collection: The Spirit of America (2023), and The Perelman Collection: Masterpieces of Design (2022). In her capacity as Chairman of Major Collections, she has responsibility for organizing Sotheby’s expertise and developing strategy around the presentation of great estates and significant cross-category collection sales. In this capacity, she oversees Sotheby’s global Collection Sale Management team and collaborates with key business leaders across Sotheby's Global Fine Arts and Luxury Divisions. Prior to joining Sotheby’s in 2000, Ms. Pollack was a research associate in the American Decorative Arts department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Decorative Arts at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design at the University of Michigan.
